Our
Services
Bridges of Iowa offers help and hope to those suffering with addiction.
Our substance use disorder treatment program stands out from other facilities in many ways, beginning with a long-term, community-based approach. People do not fall into addiction and ruin their lives in 30 days, so it makes little sense to think these behaviors can be effectively changed with a 30-day program.
High-Intensity Residential Treatment
The program begins with a highly structured, supervised residential treatment that consists of:
Group therapy
One-on-one counseling
Health & Wellness
Community service
Support groups, including AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and Celebrate Recovery
Outpatient Treatment
This last phase of our program is when guests move out of our residential facility and into their own living arrangements where they:
Continue their treatment in our outpatient program at our East Village location. Our outpatient program includes,
Weekly group therapy sessions
Monthly individual counseling sessions
Compliance with weekly drug testing
Bridges of Iowa accepts individuals directly into our outpatient treatment program. Participation in our residential treatment is not required for outpatient admission.
Low-Intensity Residential Treatment
Guests take on increased responsibility while also gaining more freedom. This is the part of the program that includes gaining employment and financial readiness. In this phase we help guests with:
Resumes
Interviewing skills
Transportation
We work with a multitude of local employers to help guests:
Find a job
Maintain that job
We administer trust accounts for all our guests that help:
Manage their money
Save money for graduation and becoming self-sustaining.
Bridges of Iowa accepts individuals directly into our halfway house treatment program. Participation in our high-intensity residential treatment is not required for admission into this level of care.
Graduation
Upon completion or graduation from our program, our guests are:
Clean and sober for nearly a year - EVEN LONGER in some cases
Employed and contributing financially to a portion of their treatment costs
Participating in a sober support network through family, friends, support groups, church, and others
It is obvious to see how our long-term continuum of care truly prepares individuals for success.
We conduct bi-monthly graduation that include brief speeches from graduates and their families and conclude with a “crossing the bridge” ceremony.
